RMS uncoverup shade #22 heavily swatched in natural daylight
The line has a startlingly simple and wholesome ingredients lists, beautiful fashion forward colours and formulas that are both versatile and effective. If you haven't guessed it already, I have fallen for the brand hook, line and sinker!
I have been testing cult favourite the "un" cover-up, this can be used as a concealer or as a foundation, for me it works both ways. For application I found the warmth of my fingers to be by far the best tool, even though this is a cream it is worth noting that I do think you still need to have well moisturised skin otherwise it can cling slightly to any dry patches. It works just as well under my eyes as it does on blemishes or imperfections making it perfect if you don't like to have too many different products to do the same job.
Ingredients:
*Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, *Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, *Cera Alba (Beeswax), *Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, *Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopherol(non-GMO), *Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, and may contain: [+/- Titanium Dioxide CI 77891, Iron Oxides CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499] *organic ingredients
The only downside is the price, this doesn't come cheap at £28 per pot, but I have been using mine for a while now and have barely made a dent so the product does last a while. As usual with American brands this is much cheaper in it's home country so if you happen to be on holiday there I would take a serious look!
When it comes to natural and organic make up people are generally quite concerned with the lasting power, let's just get this out of the way now, make up is not supposed to stay glued to your face all day without moving! You need far too many nasty chemicals to create that kind of product.
What I look for instead from my natural products is something that will wear well without fading in patches or looking cakey. This certainly fits the bill, by the end of a long working day with no touch ups this doesn't look exactly the same as it did it the morning but it still looks really good, and that is what matters to me. I do set with a powder if I wear it alone but it works really nicely with mineral powder foundation over the top.
I am quite fair and shade 22 is my summer colour so I will have to buy 11 for the winter time. The colour selection is limited which is a shame but most lighter skin tones are well catered for with this. You wouldn't think it from looking at the heavy swatch I photographed but actually this blends into my skin surprisingly well which shows the products versatility.
The heavy glass jar and lid are recyclable and even though it is weighty is quite compact so would be good for travelling. I have my eyes on the colour cosmetics next, I can't really believe it has taken me this long to try RMS but now that I have I am a total convert!
In the UK you can get this at Naturisimo or Love Lula who both offer international shipping.

DeleteLovely review :) Have been looking at this quite a lot... Hm, wonder if any US sites offer international shipping! x
ReplyDeleteI was the same, looked at it forever before buying, not sure about US I am always wary of taxes but it is something to research. I have to say I think it is definitely worth the money not that I have it! Xx
DeleteI sooo wish it was cheaper :( I know I'll get around to trying RMS one day *sigh*
ReplyDeleteMayah x
I bought it when there was an offer on at Naturisimo, January Sales is when I plan on stocking up too! Xx
DeleteThank you for this review! I've been been looking at sooooo many natural foundations, but it's so bloody hard to choose the right one cause most of them are available only online and it's a struggle to find decent reviews and swatches. I've just ordered "un" cover up, can't wait to try it :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad the review was helpful, I feel the same way about foundation swatches I did a lot of research before buying this. Just subscribed to your blog too, always great to discover someone else who loves natural products :) Xx
DeleteOh, that's great!!! Thank you xxx
DeleteThanks for the helpful review, but I have the urge to insist on asking, how long-lasting is the product? I'm curious, and the information will help determine my future conscious purchases.

For me this will last 8-10 hours (More in winter), on other skins it may well be different. I think the formula and quality of ingredients means that considering this has no chemicals the lasting power is very good.
Delete£28 seems steep but it does look like a little goes a really long way xx
ReplyDeleteI agree it is definitely a pricey line, you pay extra for the quality of the organic ingredients and your right it does last a while! Xx
DeleteHi Ana,
ReplyDeleteI've been considering to switch on to natural/organic foundation. My only concern that is my skin is not fair but white, even in summer. :) I usually face this problem when choosing foundation or any makeup really. Do you have any advice on what brand to look at? I'd appreciate your answer. Many thanks, Liv
Hi Liv, I know the mineral make up brands tend to have great colour options, Lily Lolo and Anita Grant both have options for very pale skin. Dr Hauschka has a tinted moisturiser which comes in 00 which is very fair. Take a look at Red head beauty diaries blog, there is a link in my sidebar she is fair and uses natural make up too, if none of those work for you get back to me and I will try and give you some more options :) Xx
DeleteThanks very much Ana! That's very sweet of you. I'll have a look! :)
ReplyDeleteAna, great review and love the look of your blog! I'm also a 22. Kristen Arnett of Green Beauty Team taught me how to use this lovely treat in a pot by warming it in my fingers first, as you worked out for yourself (brilliant, you are!). That helps it melt right into the skin for a flawless finish. Love it too! And you'll fall for Lip2Cheek too. I just bought Demure. *SIGH*
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarita! I have my eye on Demure I will definitely treat myself :) Xx
DeleteWonderful review :) The Un-Cover Up is my favorite. I use it as a light foundation. It's just the best and most natural I've ever found.
